Dr. Mark Pitstick Answers Your Questions About Reincarnation & More

(1)  Why is it so important to learn anything in an earth-based reality if it’s not “who we really are?”  If we’re supposedly perfect, why must we learn or grow at all?  I’m not even sure that there is a purpose outside what we decide it is.  Or is our purpose assigned by something else?

Such deep and important questions!  I’ve searched for sensible, evidence-based answers to such questions for 45 years since working with many suffering and dying persons.

We can learn and grow while experiencing the field of all possibilities from a non-earthly observation point.  It’s reported to be easier to learn lessons while seeing without human brain induced myopia.

However, the density of the earth experience – while operating under the illusion that we are separate, lose loved ones, die, and other false notions – can deepen growth.  Being on this planet is a great testing grounds to see how we do when ‘the rubber hits the road.’  Learning lessons in metaphysical realms is akin to reading a book about how to play tennis.  Experiencing reality as an earthling puts you on a court with a racquet in your hand.

Put another way, developing more love, compassion, and strength of spirit can be greatly aided by the challenges of this world and its seeming cruelty and chaos.

Like you, I’ve heard it said that we each are perfect in some sense.  In my worldview, we each have the potential to grow toward perfection.  However, speaking strictly for myself, I’m glad we have eternity to get it right.

I agree that our purposes are what we choose them to be.  Ideally, we plan our missions and how to fulfill them with help from higher energy assistants / assistance and – always and everywhere – the Light.  But important lessons can be learned by immature and impetuous souls who strike out despite being less than fully prepared.  Then more evolved souls get to care for them and others who are hurt.  It’s a beautiful set up.  After grousing at God for many years, I’ve not devised a better system.

May you deeply know and courageously show that this brief earthly experience is a totally safe, meaningful, and magnificent adventure amidst forever.

(2) I have had numerous dreams of being a different person.  In one, I was a Sargent in the U. S. Army in WWII and was shot and killed.  In another, I was helping bury a Pharoah underground.  After placing him in the sarcophagus and putting on the lid, I looked up.  A large round stone rolled into place to close the entrance and sand began filling the area.  I was trapped in a tomb to die with my Pharoah.  The feelings of dying were so strong even after I awoke.  Are these dreams possibly signs I have lived and died in those ways before?  How do I deal     with these feelings and fears?

Thanks for your great question.  Based on your strong emotions, your dreams could be reflections of events that ‘actually’ occurred.  (I say ‘actually’ because perceptions of lifetimes in chronological order as a separate physical person are likely only relatively real.)  I agree with Dr. Moody that life may perhaps be best understand as a series of totally safe virtual reality experiences.  Just as humans enjoy vicarious experiences via books and movies, eternal beings enjoy exploring other slices of life.

On the other hand, your dreams may be more metaphorical, for example, messages you can stop fighting yourself / others, and to beware whom you serve.  Whatever the case, I created two audio products for releasing fear and other difficult emotions that surface in dreams or the waking state:

  1. Past Life Regressionrevisit actual or metaphorical experiences in other times and places. Very deep relaxation and visual imagery help you realize these events can’t hurt you so you can release energy-draining emotions.

  2. Holistic Breathing Technique: prolonged, noisy, and diaphragmatic breathing with music and coaching in the background can assist your recall of who you are and life’s big picture. And that, in turn, allows you to heal old wounds and release fears.

(3) Why do we remember everything from our wider consciousness visit after an NDE, but nothing from our pre-birth wider consciousness visit?

Your question is an excellent one.  As you know, not everyone recalls a NDE after clinical death.  Further, there is no way of knowing what portion of the near-death experience is actually recalled.  The emerging field of perinatal experiences (PNEs) shares cases of children who – spontaneously or under hypnosis – accurately report memories of events that occurred before conception, while in utero, and during or just after human birth.  The parents maintain there is no way their children could know this information . . . but they do.

My book Soul Proof includes a chapter about perinatal research with reports by medical doctors and psychologists that, collectively, strongly suggests that awareness exists before birth.  It appears that at least some children do remember their wider consciousness before coming to earth.  This field highlights the importance of creating environments for children so they don’t totally forget the greater reality after going through ‘becoming a good earthling’ training.
